Have you ever thought about what might happen if James Bond started his career as a teenager? That idea inspired Anthony Horowitz to write the Alex Rider books, a fast-paced series about a regular London schoolboy who gets drawn into the risky world of international spying.

Alex is just 14 when he learns his uncle wasn’t really a boring bank manager. In fact, his uncle was an MI6 agent who had been secretly training Alex for years. Soon, Alex is sent undercover, relying on his instincts, gadgets, and skills he never knew he had.

The Alex Rider series now includes 14 books: twelve main novels about Alex, a prequel focused on the assassin Yassen Gregorovich, and a collection of short stories.
